Happy Turkey

We are hosting Thanksgiving for the first time today. It's pretty cool to be trusted with the responsibility. I mean it would really suck to screw up Thanksgiving. But my hubby is a wonderful cook, so I'm sure everything will turn out great.

Eeek, everyone is coming in 2.5 hours. So I guess I better stop playing around on the computer and get dressed so I can help.

I'm home

I'm back from the hospital. Well actually I got home on Friday. The surgery went well. The rest of my thryoid was removed and it appears the cancer didn't spread to my lymph nodes. That is what I was worried about. I am in really good spirits because of that news and just the thought that the nasty tumor is out of my neck.

I'm not feeling so hot today. I think I did too much yesterday. Eh...

Just a note to let you know/remind you all that I am having surgery tomorrow again. I will be staying at the hospital until at least Friday, if not Saturday. So I will be out of contact until I'm feeling good enough to use the computer. Send positive energy my way!

I have the best friends in the world. Seriously.

This has been the most difficult week of my life and my friends have not only come through for me, but you have fed my soul. It would have been so easy for any of you to feel like you couldn't handle the stress or be afraid of how to react to me. But no one did that. I have received cards, comments, emails and even on a few occasions cheer-up gifts.

It's been more than I expected. You have known exactly what to say and when to say it. You have helped me to be strong and to have hope. You have made this easier not only on me, but on my family. I can't begin to repay you for your love and kindness. I just hope that you know how very much I appreciate it.

Bad news today

I saw my surgeon today for my post-surgery check-up and didn't get great news. Although the biopsy showed nothing, I do have thyroid cancer. The pathologist found it after the nodule was taken out.

So two weeks from today I'm having surgery again to remove the rest of my thryoid.
