Oh where, oh where has my energy gone?

What does it mean to say you are tired? I'm so tired. Especially today. But to say "I'm tired.", well what does that sound like to other people? Everyone is tired/worn out or just plain exahusted at some point. The tiredness I have felt since I've had my thryoid removed is impossible to describe. Of the symptoms and side effects, the exhaustion I feel is the worst cross to bear.

According to http://www.thyroid-info.com/articles/surgery.htm, the symptoms of being hypothyroid are:

"Symptoms of hypothyroidism include fatigue, exhaustion, feeling run down and sluggish, depression, difficulty concentrating, brain fog, unexplained or excessive weight gain, dry skin, coarse and/or itchy skin, dry hair, coarse and/or thinning hair, feeling cold, especially in the extremities, constipation, muscle cramps, joint pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, increased menstrual flow, more frequent periods."

I have nearly all those. Notice how being tired is included in there a few times: fatigue, exhaustion, feeling run down and sluggish, difficulty concentrating, and brain fog. Seems like even the experts can't label this tiredness.

I am going to have my thyroid levels tested on Friday and I'm actually looking forward to it. Not because I like being stuck with needles, but because I want my doctor to be able to increase my meds so that I might start feeling better.

This tiredness is killing my spirit. It's awful to being lose who I am to it. I can't function. I can't chase after my 3 year old. I can't get my house clean every day. I can't stay awake all day. I have to take a nap every day once my husband gets home. Most importantly, I just don't feel like myself. It sucks. :-(
